In front of a sold-out crowd at Starfire Stadium on a picture-perfect Sunday afternoon, we got the job done.
With the season on the line, your Seattle Seawolves delivered a dominant 42-17 win over the Miami Sharks — securing five crucial points and clinching the final playoff spot in the Western Conference.
It all happened on Pride Night, a night that meant more than rugby. From a pride flag color guard and a special anthem performance by Miss Washington to a community celebration at halftime featuring the Mudhens and Seattle Quake, this match was bigger than just the scoreboard. Inclusivity and unity were on full display — and the energy was unforgettable.
We also made history off the pitch, proudly inducting Olive Kilifi — Seattle rugby icon and club legend — as a Seawolves Legend. Kilifi’s legacy continues to shape who we are: tough, grounded, and fiercely proud of where we come from.
On the pitch, it was a complete team performance:
Malembe Mpofu set the tone early with a beautiful team try and led our defense with relentless intensity.
Jade Stighling was electric, finishing with two tries and lighting up the crowd with his speed and spark.
Rodney Iona stayed calm and clinical with the boot, missing just one kick all night.
Duncan Matthews, your Player of the Match, matched Jade with two tries of his own and brought fire to every phase.
And Dewald Kotze hit a major milestone, earning his 50th MLR cap in Seawolves colors.
Now, we turn the page.
We’re in the hunt — but we’re hitting the road.
Next stop: Utah. A Saturday night showdown against the Warriors awaits. We’ll be without star back Divan Rossouw due to a red card suspension, but the mission stays the same.
Thank you to the nearly 4,000 fans who packed Starfire. You lifted us, pushed us, and made this moment possible.
We’re not done yet.
